Finance Analyst (Support AUS business)
The Analyst role is a key, hands-on member of a regional finance team, focused on project accounting, forecasting/month end and general commercial support of the Australian business. The position supports the in-country teams, mainly in the review of the profitability of our projects, management and financial accounting.
§ Able to operate as a detailed, hands-on person within the local finance team & within the business.
§ Experience in working in technology companies / IT Services (consulting experience preferred)
§ Strong analytical skills
§ Strong communication skills to discuss & resolve “issue” areas with appropriate parties
§ Excellent working knowledge of Excel and good knowledge of MS Windows based software packages: Word, Outlook, etc.
§ Working knowledge of SAP Financials prefferedWorking knowledge of revenue recognition (US GAAP accounting) preferred
§ Works with the finance lead and business leads in building and providing an accurate and reliable monthly forecast model and KPI, including incorporating engagement specific financial data.
§ Works with finance, business and delivery leads to complete project accounting cycles.
§ Ensures commercial finance data quality and consistency in SAP (e.g. forecasts and revenue recognized)
§ Produces clear, timely and proactive management reports to Avanade Management and Leadership that demonstrate and explain performance
§ Ensures with departmental leads that all costs are appropriately estimated in both budget and forecast
· Collaborates with the Finance leads in the following areas:
o Works with Delivery organization and other members of Finance in having regional compliance of policies and internal controls, mainly contract checklists and revenue recognition policies
o Monitors and drives accurate and on-time engagement revenue calculations using common global processes and tools
o Provides guidance to Project Managers with respect to financial reporting concepts, key financial metrics, etc.
o Works with Project Managers to monitor and drive engagement profitability - where applicable, identifying issues, recommending solutions, and coordinating their implementationMonitors contract and scope changes; ensures that contract database, engagement pricing and revenue reporting are updated appropriately.
