Region COO & Workforce Planning and Execution Lead, Gallia

As the Lead for Regional Operations and Workforce Planning you will provide strong leadership and management across both regional business operations and workforce planning, focusing on the development and execution of strategic planning, processes, and implementation of change initiatives that improve operational efficiency and profitability and deliver on key objectives. 

The role works closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Regional General Manager to drive Avanade's achievement of key strategic business outcomes.

This is a hands-on, dynamic and evolving role within our growing business requiring both strategic and detailed involvement in the business operations, championing the direction of the business as well as effectively directing others. 

With joint accountability to the Area COO and Regional General Manager within the matrix organization, with functional reporting through Operations, you will implement business strategy and ensure compliance with all Avanade policies and processes.  

 Day-to-day, you will: 
  • Execute Global and Area business strategies and priorities through operational tactics that direct the business to achieve financial and strategic goals within the assigned region
  • Implement operational strategy/tools/processes within the region to ensure the execution of consistent operations across the area
  • Lead with regional and area leadership in formulating current and long-range planning/execution of the company strategy
  • Drive business performance and manage risks to meet financial and operational targets
  • Own and execute regional business operations, partnering with Finance, HR, Sales, and other stakeholder groups to ensure the smooth running of the business
  • Partner with Area COO on change management to achieve "one Avanade" operational execution and effective teaming within and across regions and countries
  • Lead and be responsible for the coordination and integration between the Business Operations teams, such as Scheduling, Resource Operations, Deal Management, etc.
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direction for the Workforce Execution teams in region, ensuring that skills and capabilities are effectively managed and optimized within the region
  • Lead workforce planning and execution activities with direct accountability for regional chargeability and employee productivity
  • Lead the optimization of Workforce Supply/Demand performance to achieve Chargeability goals
  • Provide direction to the Regional Talent Community Leads to execute effectively on the "build, buy, borrow" strategy

Key Role Skill & Capability Requirements:
  • Demonstrated managerial and leadership experience with remote teams across multiple time zones
  • Demonstrated multi-year experience of successful and collaborative planning and execution (financial, operational, or people-based) across multiple and diverse geographic locations
  • Proven ability to drive complex process, change implementation and stakeholder management at speed and handling ambiguous situations and data with ease
  • Active leader within the Regional Leadership team, comfortable making difficult decisions and "speaking truth to power"
  • "Growth mindset" to foster new and creative solutions to familiar operational problems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential - especially to tailor and explain difficult concepts and influence/persuade widely different audiences
  • Experience managing aspects of resource deployment and mobilization to meet business objectives and client demands
  • Strong knowledge of Avanade/Microsoft solutions and delivery methods and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive executive level discussions related to chargeability forecasts and potential shortcomings
  • Detailed understanding of capabilities, credentials, certifications and other education and background needs of staff to deliver successful engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a complex, matrixed organization within a fast paced environment

Preferred Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in relevant field

Preferred Experience:

  • 12-15+ years work experience
  • 5+ years management experience
  • Proven consulting or technology leadership experience of development/engineering and/or operations teams

Scope of Work:
  • Nature of Work: Collaboratively sets strategic objectives with other leaders, and other managers, as they deliver against strategic plans; monitors operational effectiveness and intervenes to increase likelihood of success.
  • Scope of Work: Translates high-level strategy into more localized strategy and operational objectives for large-scale and strategically critical workstreams.
  • Complexity: High complex problems, often requiring analysis of near-intangible factors, creative solutioning, and significant networking to succeed. Significant integration of work efforts and inputs are required.
  • Discretion: Authority to establish standards and shift overall direction of projects and programs in response to functional strategy.
  • Financial: Partner with Regional FD to plan and execute the annual budgets with specific emphasis on account planning.
  • Leadership Stakes: Failure likely to have longer-term impact on business operations / success.
  • Supervision Received: Operates with extreme latitude in determining focus and approach to work objectives.
  • Knowledge Applied: Applies expert knowledge of a learned professional occupation / discipline and demonstrable, broad knowledge of business operations and organizational strategy.

This role is a Gallia position, based in France, Belgium, or the Netherlands. You will operate as a key member of the Region Leadership team, with strong support from Area COO and Area Workforce Planning Lead when needed. Level consideration for this role include Sr. Director or Executive, based on experience.
