As one of the North America’s Technology Build Hub Location Leaders, this role will be highly visible and accountable for the mobilization of our development center in Toronto, Canada that will scale to >300+employees over the next few years and become core to our onshore delivery model. The capabilities in this location will be software development mostly full stack web, java back-end, iOS/Android as well as skills across the Microsoft ecosystem such as ERP, Dynamics, Power Platform, Azure Cloud etc. This leader will be focused on onboarding and retaining a diverse talent pool and incorporating some of our existing culture while maintaining a local flavor.

Local Collaboration

  • Partnering with our internal marketing and communications team around recruitment marketing initiatives to bring more awareness to potential candidates about Avanade
  • Relationship management with existing universities and colleges as well as establishing new strategic relationships for future recruitment opportunities of junior talent
  • Collaboration with local tech/digital hubs, hosting tech talks, lunch and learns and being actively involved in the local tech scene as a key player in the market
  • Local partnership with the Accenture Advanced Technology Center in Toronto to identify any potential synergies to provide an exceptional delivery for our clients
  • Maintain an active relationship with Microsoft locally as it relates to the development and certification of our team members
  • Ongoing collaboration with Avanade’s South Regions Leadership given the physical location of this Build Hub
  • Constant collaboration with local Talent Acquisition team members

  • Build and establish a local culture that incorporates a growth mindset with diverse views, learning and development all while continuously embracing change along the way
  • Create a sense of community for our technical talent and connect them with their peers across other Build Hubs locations across North America
  • Evaluate the status quo by continuously keeping a pulse on the team and raising new ideas and concepts that could improve the employee and client experience
  • Involvement in ensuring that local social activities and connection is occuring regularly, creating for the highest possible engagement amongst local team members
  • Regularly taking part in our “skip level” discussions with employees across the Build Hub Network as one of the leaders

Solution Design

  • Actively involved in managing incoming requests from our sellers that require capability to service a client need
  • Partnering with sellers and/or solution areas on specific deals and bringing the subject matter experts to the discussions with clients
  • Accountability around creating the go to market content outlining the capabilities that will be available in Toronto
  • Becoming internally certified to solution deals from a Build Hub perspective
  • Ensure all processes and governance over incoming work requests are adhered to
