As a Group Manager, Account Delivery Lead you will lead Account teams in the successful delivery of work. You will be responsible for the portfolio of work related to current engagements. You will orchestrate resources and entities on the account in pursuit of achieving the “up-sell” and margin & revenue plan and, where appropriate, support new sales initiatives within the client. You are a key ambassador for the Avanade presence on the account to grow the portfolio.

Day-to-day you will:
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT – 10%
- Represents Avanade to the client across the portfolio of delivery contracts 
- Originates, builds, and strengthens individual client relationships
- Advocates Avanade’s suite of services in alignment with client needs 
- Develops a close working relationship with and understands the thinking of the client’s technology leadership, business & industry dynamics, and overall strategy
- Works with the Client Executive as their primary point of contact for matters concerning delivery
SALES MANAGEMENT – 15%
- Works with the Client Executive on sales strategy and planning related to growing current delivery 
- Takes responsibility for orchestrating delivery resources to achieve the account sales and revenue plan
- Drives the origination sales opportunities related to the current delivery in support of the wider sales and revenue plan; and plays a leadership role in driving the subsequent pursuits 
DELIVERY – 70%
- Drives the successful delivery of one or more contracts
- Manages Cost to Serve by driving Delivery Leads to: 1. Achieve optimized cost structures for engagements by utilizing the right delivery locations and the right pyramid 2. Ensure contracts are actively drawing on strategic Delivery programs and initiatives to drive productivity and efficiency
- Manages the portfolio on the account to achieve targeted contract revenue and delivered margin by managing predictable, on-time and on-budget delivery
- Oversees engagement resourcing and capability sourcing
- Sponsor delivery and profitability improvement initiatives
- Follows and advocates for quality processes
- Escalates high-risk and problem jobs for intervention appropriately
- Manages financial risks down
- Collaborates with Quality Assurance Directors to implement Quality feedback as needed
- Follows delivery management and governance guidelines for the account and portfolio
- Proactively reports status and issues and seeks input to progress delivery or resolve issues where appropriate
- Drives contracts to utilize the relevant suite of delivery tools and systems to enhance delivery rigor
- Provides deliverability input to opportunity sales and solutioning teams where required
- Optimizes the client experience of multi-location delivery by driving DLs to ensure seamless delivery from on-, off-, and nearshore locations
ECOSYSTEM AND INNOVATION MANAGEMENT – 5%
- Brings the best of Avanade and our partners’ offerings to our clients - leverages our Engineering, Market Unit, Advisory, and Talent Communities skills and capabilities judiciously. 
- Pursues innovation via the pursuit of and support for day-to-day improvements; and bringing our broader innovation capabilities to bear at the account where appropriate
- Push for Microsoft ecosystem within the client and communicates automation, innovation and value being delivered

Specific Client requirements

In this role you will also have a clear focus on delivering Microsoft based solutions using Agile methodologies. In particular:

  • Experience managing agile projects at scale (3+ Scrum Teams using Scaled Agile Methodology)
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies including 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams. PMP preferred
  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred
  • Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with at least 10-15 team members including Developers, Business Analysts, and Testing Personnel
  • Strong familiarity with Agile Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Nexus, SAFe, etc)
  • Agile Coaching Experience
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
  • Balanced business/technical background:
    • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
    • Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:
    • Agile Project Management tools such as Jira/Greenhopper, Rally, VersionOne or equivalent
    • Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
