Your role
As a Technical Project Manager in Delivery Management, you will take the leading role at the client, manage your team of consultants and drive project executions. Through managing people, methodologies and technologies you will make sure that projects are completed on time, within the budget and at the highest quality in order to fulfill Avanade’s commitments to the client as agreed.

Project estimating, planning, mobilization, execution, and closure phases are part of your responsibilities. You will also communicate with regular frequency projects’ status, manage risks and monitor financial performance. You will also support our sales team in the pre-sales phase. Our projects are Microsoft solutions within the following domains: Infrastructure, Application development and/or Analytics. 

Day-to-today tasks:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a detailed project work plan, appropriate controls, governance structures and monitoring to ensure on-time, on-budget and high-quality outcomes. 
  • Balance scope, schedule, budget, risk management as well as coordinate, report and respond to project issues. Propose and implement adjustments as necessary. 
  • Ensure that the project work within the different teams’ areas of responsibility are planned, organized, performed, and executed with a minimum of control. Project teams can be global teams consisting of onshore, offshore, and near-shore colleagues. 
  • Manage expectations by establishing a close collaboration with key client stakeholders. 
  • Fulfill agreements in the contract and manage change.

About you
You believe that close collaboration with clients and effective teamwork are the keys to success. You are at home with enterprise technology and software development and enjoy implementing plans and problem solving while keeping multiple stakeholders involved in the process. Our office is located in Helsinki, Finland so we expect you to have a work permission by the Finnish government to apply for this position.

We are looking for a teammate with:

  • Capability to navigate in complex customer environments and a technically oriented mindset.
  • Working knowledge of software development methodology, preferably with Microsoft platform technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of contract terms.
  • Several years of previous project management experience working with enterprise clients.
  • Education in business or IT.
  • Experience in agile methodologies, preferable certified with one or more Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, etc.).
  • Preferred Certifications: Project Management Institute (PMI) and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
  • Fluent language skills in Finnish and English.

  • Results-oriented and able to drive change in an unstructured environment.  
  • Disciplined, persistent and well organized with the ability to manage several projects at the same time. 
  • Customer-oriented with good interpersonal and presentation skills.   
  • Positive and have a 'Can do - Will do' attitude that guarantees the best client experience.
