THIS IS A W2 CONTRACT POSITION


Job Duties
• Act as Scrum Master for 2 Scrum teams with a focus on guiding the teams towards improving the way they work.
• Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style and lead by example. This person should be extremely knowledgeable in, and personify Scrum and Agile.
• Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective and sprint demos, and cross-team coordination
• Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
• Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem solving.
• Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing, and report team progress to senior management
• Strongly serve and support the Product Owner and Development Team in their quest to do everything possible to delight customers
• Reach out to the larger company network or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
• Coach and mentor other Scrum Masters in our product team as needed. Ensure that our ways of working are consistent across the teams.
• Act as an advocate/evangelist for the Scrum process and to help to spread agile values throughout the organization

Experience Requirements


• relevant experience (development, project management, etc.)
• At least 3 years’ experience being Scrum Master on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of relevant Agile metrics and charts (e.g. burndown, velocity)
• Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burn down techniques, numerous retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
• Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self- study, etc.
• Knowledge of SAFe and one or more additional approaches discussed in the Agile space, such as XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
• Knowledge and/or experience with one or more widely successful Agile techniques such as, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills
• Experience with working on a distributed development team
• Proficient experience working with TFS

Education:
• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
