Avanade Inc. seeks an Information Technology Project Manager in Seattle, WA to ensure the successful delivery of projects as measured by schedule, budget, customer satisfaction and deliverable quality performance measures. You will plan, initiate, and manage information technology projects based on Microsoft platform technologies leveraging SDLC & Agile methodologies, which will include leading and guiding the work of technical staff, serving as liaison between the business and technical aspects of projects, planning project stages and assessing the business implications for each stage, and monitoring each project’s progress to assure deadlines, standards and cost targets are met.  This role actively supports sales and will be accountable for estimating, planning, mobilization, execution, and successful closure of projects.  During a project lifecycle, you will manage project activities and tasks using Microsoft ALM tools, communicate status with regular frequency, manage risks, and issue and monitor financial performance according to in-place contractual agreements made between Avanade and its clients.  You will also be responsible for overseeing all activities and tasks needed to maintain a desired level of excellence.  This includes creating and implementing quality planning and assurance, quality control and quality improvement.  You will be expected to use breakthrough thinking and business opportunity development techniques to improve innovation in processes and products.  Domestic travel to client sites is required approximately 80% of the average work week.  Must live w/in reasonable commuting distance of Seattle, WA. 

Basic Qualifications:

The position requires at least a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology Management, or Business Administration, and at least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, as a Delivery Manager, or in a similar role in an IT consulting capacity.  A qualified applicant’s experience must include the following skills: 5 years of experience managing projects within the IT consulting industry; 5 years of experience utilizing Microsoft platform technologies and Office 365 products; 5 years of experience estimating and negotiating contracts for IT projects, or engineering projects, or relevant technical projects;  5 years of experience providing pre-sales support, including requirements gathering, analyzing/defining technical architectures, and articulating proposed solutions; 5 years of experience managing technical teams w/in a client-facing role; and 5 years of experience managing medium to large system integration projects/programs, including project mobilization/planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure using multi-functional delivery teams in an Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall delivery model.
