The regional BUSINESS OPERATIONS LEAD will provide strong leadership and management of regional operations focusing in particular on change initiatives to improve operational efficiency and profitability. In addition, this role will work with Executives / Regional Leadership and other functional leads to ensure compliance with all Avanade policies and internal controls and will also provide direct or indirect management oversight for a number of Area functional roles.

 

The Regional BUSINESS OPERATIONS LEAD will be responsible for managing operational aspects of the GCR business and will assist the Regional Lead in the rapid and successful growth of the region. This role will provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the region has the proper operational controls, delivery capability, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

 

The role is to provide strong Avanade DNA for the GCR business and drive business optimization through implementing end-to-end business processes and drawing upon best practices from within the region and elsewhere within Avanade, as well as providing strong people leadership for a growing team.

 

Key responsibilities include: business operations, reporting & measurement, defining and implementing policy and processes, planning and budgeting, working closely with the GDN to drive optimal resourcing and revenue strategies for the business, and partnering with the Regional Lead and Leadership team to implement constructive strategies to retain existing business and grow revenue and profitability.

 

Important aspects of the role are: supporting the Delivery Management function and taking an active role in Deal Reviews, Quality and Governance Management, overseeing and strengthening the recruitment and scheduling process and function, and driving effective relationships with GDN and various core services teams.

 

The role will also be the 'glue' between executive, sales, capability, delivery, GDN and core services functions within GCR and interface with the Growth Markets COO.

 

Importantly, the role is critical in supporting the GCR Regional Lead to build a strong Avanade culture in GCR, with a business model and team in place that is able to provide longer term sustainable, profitable growth.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of all operational processes within GCR

  • Support GCR annual planning processes, quarterly reviews and updates, track progress against key initiatives and deliverables

  • Establish governance structure and ensure governance is effectively providing support for the business

  • Enable the processes, tools and techniques to identify, analyze, track, manage and resolve risks that impact the business

  • Manage services by designing and building operations for the business to improve customer service and reduce operational cost

  • Drive recruitment and scheduling to support development and delivery through our service lines including capacity planning, customer satisfaction and day to day operations, ensuring that service levels are monitored and that service level agreements are met

  • Be a central participant in strategic decision-making on key questions such as the development of our business model and technology/service offering, our growth strategy, our partnerships and the development of our brand within GCR

  • Manage country change initiatives to improve operational efficiency and profitability

  • Plan, prepare and manage the region’s budget in conjunction with the Regional Lead and Finance

  • Contribute to development of management/leadership, communication and general consulting skills

  • Adapt regional processes and organization to a changing/dynamic regional/service line organization

  

Qualification requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business and/or Masters in Business Administration would be advantageous

  • 10 years of increasingly diverse or complex experience, 8+ years management experience

     

  • Strong track record in developing and managing organization's operations to meet business objectives and strategies

  • Proven ability to coordinate complicated processes

  • Demonstrated managerial and leadership experience

  • Excellent personal leadership and communication skills

  • Leading a high growth, highly demanding 'best people' environment

  • Proven ability to work cross-functional in a staff position

  • Deep understanding of a consulting business model; some consulting experience preferred

  • Demonstrated understanding of a P&L and the financial complexities of a global onshore/offshore services industry

  • Proven influence without authority skills; demonstrated ability to negotiate and give feedback upwards and across the organization

  • Deep knowledge of backend operational systems and inherent integration complexities

  • Ability to holistically evaluate processes to determine necessity for short-term fixes vs. long-term investments

  • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, credibility, and character

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and adapt across country/cultural boundaries. Ability to understand the subtleties of interaction, negotiation and professional etiquette in the GCR market

  • Outstanding people leadership skills – a track record in attracting, developing, coaching, nurturing and retaining talent

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to explore, understand and integrate business processes, financial metrics, and organizational systems and structures

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership ability

  • Demonstrated understanding of a P&L and the financial complexities of a global onshore/offshore services industry

  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills

  • Possesses the ability to be team oriented and collaborative, yet can also provide individual contributor value

  • Ability to interact and influence all levels of people, as well as overall Avanade culture
