Front-End Developer

Role Overview:

As a Front- End developer, you will design and/or develop informative, interactive, well-designed web sites to support external clients' business strategy (e.g., e-business or e-commerce applications).

You will contribute to solution specifications and develop the solution to client specifications.

Key Role Responsibilities:

Day-to-day you will:

Design, code, test, debug, document and implement applications using a variety of languages and platforms such as JavaScript, Angular, ReactJS, Java, C#, Python, SQL or Scala

Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces (UI) that consist of graphics, data visualizations, icons and color schemes that are visually appealing, responsive, and accessible

Incorporate appropriate security into front-end software to restrict access to appropriate system components and authorized users

Creating highly performant web applications for data visualization

Ensure that applications are compatible across multiple computing platforms and browsers

Manipulate images for incorporation into interactive front-end system components

Key Role Skill & Capability Requirements:

Your technical and non-technical skills include:

Up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft products

Experience with Javascript (ES6, ES7), frameworks and libraries such as React.js, Redux, Angular, Vue and its ecosystem

Deep understanding of html semantics, CSS (sass, less), box-model / flex-box

Following and understanding front-end good practices

Willingness to learn and staying up to date with latest trends

Practical knowledge about different testing approaches and tools (Unit testing, e2e testing, BDD, TDD)

Ability to communicate information to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to gain an understanding of customer process and issues, and communicate them back

Ability to understand and communicate customer issues

Ability to work independently

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Understands QA activities in relation to systems development lifecycle

Experience in application lifecycle management, agile development methods and software planning

Preferred Education Background:

You likely possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also suffice.

Preferred Years of Work Experience:

You likely have about 3-5 years of professional experience.

Provides technical, administrative, or operational support with developed understanding of processes, procedures & best practices.

Executes project/program plans and processes in alignment with established operational objectives.

Scope of Work

Primarily focused on own work, and execution of prescribed work plans.

Work must be coordinated across different workstreams, processes, or projects.

Provides operational leadership for work efforts requiring significant coordination.

Translates high-level strategy into more localized strategy and operational objectives for large-scale and strategically-critical workstreams.

Complex problems primarily within one's occupation / discipline that require personal judgement of contextual factors.

Discretion

Some discretion in how work is approached, but still primarily delivering work aligned to standard processes.

Direct, regular supervision & monitoring.
