Job Description

The Subject Matter Advisor is a critical member of the delivery team who leverages his/her experience and expertise in the FSI market to help the delivery team stay current on major design rationale. You will be responsible for the accuracy and quality in which the user requirements are represented.
As a Subject Matter Advisor, you will work with the Technical Delivery Manager, assisting the technical team to deliver a complex program of work at one of Singapore’s most well-known financial services institutions. You will have a deep knowledge of business processes within the financial services industry – in particular Leads and Lending business processes re-design.
You will be responsible for capturing and understanding the full set of customer requirements, and ensuring the successful delivery of this pioneering Dynamics 365 Sales and Services program worth around 11m USD, currently forecast to last 24 months, flexing to a distributed team size of around 80 resources. The success of the delivery will be measured by schedule, budget, customer satisfaction and deliverable quality performance measures. 
You will be able to hold conversations with executive stakeholders about their business strategy and vision. With an understanding of commercial constraints, you will be able to understand and negotiate business requirements directly with challenging clients and communicate and work with the Avanade team as necessary. You will be responsible for working with clients through extensive meetings, and workshops during the planning, designing, building, testing, and maintaining of the solution.

Key Role Responsibilities

Day-to-day you will:
  • Work with the Technical Delivery Manager to translate fuzzy customers’ requirements into implementable solutions.
  • Deal with change requests by balancing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks, and manage aspects through formal change management mechanisms
  • Own/review stakeholder analysis, management & communications plan/efforts
  • Own requirements engineering, change control, deliverables, process adherence, risk management, and mitigation activities
  • Own the definition of functional requirements specifications 
  • Liaise effectively between customers, IT staff, and business partners to ensure high quality and timely resolution of customer issues
  • Ensure documentation is both consumable and robust enough to deliver necessary detail, seeing that there is effective collaboration between disciplines for consumption of content
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained to requirements content and scope from elicitation through all other phases of the project(s)
  • During testing phase, contributing to triaging failed tests by being a gatekeeper for the technical team
  • Ensure accurate development and traceability of requirements during project lifecycle

You are organized, energetic, and as comfortable in front of a board room as in front of a white board with your development team.

  • Experience in customer expectations management in challenging client environments
  • Demonstrated ability to think and work systematically and logically
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft platform technologies

Preferred Certifications

You likely possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience. An MBA or equivalent is preferred.
