About the role

As a Business Developer, you will be responsible for leading, developing and managing Avanade’s business development relationships across our Resources territory clients and prospects. You will generate sales and drive revenue through prospecting, acquiring, developing and expanding Avanade’s business. You will build robust relationships and manage the indirect sales channel with our partners and Shareholders, Accenture and Microsoft, to increase profitability of partner products. You role will focus on relationship management at the C-suite level; building stronger, more beneficial and sizeable partnerships; and striking a balance between the direct and indirect channels.


       Build, preserve and manage strategic relationships for our Energy, Utilities and Natural Resources customers, serving as the single point of contact for client requirements gathering as well as existing project delivery activities

       Strategic planning with Industry Leader, overall coordination of key accounts in the Resources industry

       Have a clear grasp on the plan, status and needs of clients within the Resources sector

       Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, lead and develop high-potential client engagement opportunities, exceed sales targets

       Understand the key trends related to the client’s industry or domain and provide value-added solutions / suggestions to the client

About you

You are the type of person who develops and wins new business in a complex matrix technology services organization. You work with determination, drive and commitment to overcome obstacles to achieve your goals. You take ownership and inspire others to make a positive impact. You have superb interpersonal skills and can build relationships and neutralize conflict with colleagues, clients and others at any level inside and outside your organization to open doors and close deals. You’re a great multitasker who manages projects, opportunities and partners concurrently.

Qualifications and skills

       Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Development or Sales. You likely have seven or more years of extensive experience in developing and selling transformation and managed services deals and Fixed Fee engagements which leverage offshore resources. Solution selling, managing partners and leveraging success from collaborative relationships

       Demonstrated proven track record as an Account Manager or a Client Relationship Manager, this could be working for an Energy or Technology company or a Consultancy firm

       Good understanding of the energy, utilities or/and natural resources industries and topics affecting it is a plus

       Responding to new situations by modifying your performance and adopting new skills and abilities

       Building a network of contacts to influence, engage and promote Avanade

       Strong communication skills with a client-focused attitude and ability to navigate complex negotiations
