About the Role:

Avanade is seeking and XR Tech Lead to own the technical direction of the XR practice by providing mentorship and expertise along with owning the development and build out of projects. This role will require deep knowledge of the architecture of XR applications, understanding the landscape of XR devices, and be able to execute on creative visions. The XR Tech Lead will work alongside other business units within Avanade to further the vision of XR and to incorporate XR into opportunities to improve business value that cannot be achieved through traditional applications/systems. It is also crucial that the XR Tech Lead understands the benefits and pitfalls of building custom vs. using other platforms (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics Guides) in order to achieve the desired outcome that fits a client's budget and timeline.

Qualifications Include:

  • Experience with Dynamics 365 platforms (CRM, Power Platform, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience with estimating, detailing, and architecting large scale or sophisticated mobile applications that hook into existing ecosystems, services and data sources.
  • Experience with OOP languages (C#, Java, etc.).
  • Experience with creating experiences that utilize a variety of input (touch, gesture, voice, etc.)
  • Deep experience with XR in its multiple forms (VR, AR, MR) - Oculus, Vive, ARKit, ARCore, HoloLens, Magic Leap.
  • Experience with Microsoft HoloLens preferred.
  • Understand and implement standard methodologies for code design and development with special attention made to optimization (speed, security, and storage).
  • Experience with cloud-oriented architecture, including Azure/AWS for things such as hosting, data storage, services, etc.
  • Familiarity with Cognitive Services such as Speech Recognition, Image Recognition, etc.
  • Extensive experience with game engines (Unity3D or Unreal) and game development concepts (cameras, transforms, materials, raycasts, collisions, input, audio, networking, etc.).
  • Unity3D certified preferred.
  • Understanding of spatial computing and 3D interactive design.
  • Understanding of the strengths and limitations of mobile technology.
  • The ability to apply technology creatively to business challenges.
  • Solid communication, management and writing skills.
