About the role: 

As an Avanade Technical Security Engineer, you will be working with a diverse team of security minded technologists in ensuring all information and data on computer systems and network devices are protected, secured to prevent unauthorized access and appropriate security measures are in place to protect our people, our clients, and our data. You enjoy working on innovative technologies to help improve and/or assist in creating new security tools and services to help strengthen the cybersecurity landscape.  

Regular Responsibilities: 
  • Research, plan, design and implement Security Technology Solutions. 
  • Create and validate the detailed design of solution components in accordance with the target solution within a complex enterprise. 
  • Lead medium to large project general design and delivery (solution architecture and associated infrastructure or business and functional requirements). 
  • Take full accountability to lead and manage work streams and ensure work is coordinated across different streams, processes, or projects. Work with medium to large teams, within and outside the immediate group 
  • Deliver to a consistently high standard. 
  • Aid with technical issues, security incidents, audits, escalations, and resolution. 
  • Maintain information security knowledge and trends. 

Your background and skills include: 

  • Six or more years’ experience working for a large organization with a consulting practice such as Avanade, Accenture, KPMG, IBM, etc. 
  • Experience improving security in a large Microsoft based infrastructure. 
  • Direct technical experience with Microsoft security solutions and cloud technologies, within an enterprise. Including, but may not be limited to the following: 
    • Windows 10/11 
    • Server 2016 and higher 
    • Azure (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) 
    • Azure Security 
    • Azure Active Directory 
    • 365 Defender 
    • Defender for Endpoint 
    • Defender for Server 
    • Defender for Identity 
    • Intune/Endpoint Manager 
  • Demonstrated ability to organize initiative/project level chaos and reduce time to deliver. 
  • Experience reorganizing process or procedures to increase efficiency and drive down time to serve. 
  • Minimum of at least one current Microsoft certification if possible related to Azure and a desire to pursue more certifications including Microsoft and ISC2. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited institution or at least 3 years of military experience. Two years of successful progress towards a computer science or related degree with sufficient work experience might be considered in lieu of the degree.
