Avanade is embarking on a multi-year sales transformation as part of a wider CEO-led company-wide business transformation to dramatically grow Avanade across multiple corporate metrics such as sales, revenue, profit, and market share. The transformation includes creating a high performing sales function with a refreshed sales operating model with a clear identity, career model, modern tools, and systems to support a growing sales force to deliver exceptional results in a supportive, inclusive and rewarding work environment. The sales transformation will contribute to the ongoing evolution of Avanade’s GTM models and channel strategy.

The Role

The Sales Enablement Program & Event Lead is a new role to support the recently formed Global Sales Enablement function in Avanade, and the role will report directly to the Global Sales Enablement Lead. This role has a mandate to create, organize and support global sales enablement program planning focused on the annual Sales Kick Off and associated events and planning throughout the year to drive sales enablement goals. The focus is enablement and engagement primarily in the sales organization and broader selling community.

The Sales Enablement Program & Event Lead is responsible for assisting in the design, development, coordination, and implementation of Avanade’s annual Sales Kick Off and associated sales programs and events, that dynamically and creatively improve the capability and performance of the global sales organization and related teams with sales-related responsibilities.

This role will own the coordinating and executing of activities around the global Sales Kick off and associated events.  The role will drive event objectives and agendas, manage the creation of themes and visuals, coordinate with event partners and agencies, convene the SteerCo, structure sessions, manage workstreams and event budgets and coordinate across numerous internal organizations to ensure overall event success.  Support will be provided to the role from the Global Sales Enablement Lead and the Global Sales Council including the Chief Sales Officer.

The Sales Enablement Program & Event Lead role will suit a highly versatile program and event planner experienced in the creation, production and execution of large-scale sales enablement programs meeting of goals of a Sales Enablement function.

Responsibilities & Outcomes

  • Act as the event lead for Avanade’s annual Global Sales Kick-off and associated sales enablement activities and events
  • Coordinate Program completion workstreams and be an active participant in those workstreams
  • Prepare, monitor, and control the Sales Kick Off related expense budgets with support
  • Maintain close communication throughout planning with the CSO, Global Sales Enablement Lead and other key members of sales leadership, Marketing, Solution Areas, and other parts of the organization as needed
  • Maintain excellent communication with various Avanade participating organizations, with event personnel and with key partners/agencies
  • Assist in the identification and prioritization of suitable partner organizations and technology platforms to improve enablement experiences

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in designing, developing, coordinating, and implementing large sales enablement programs
  • Minimum of 3 years in sales training or event production, either with an agency or inhouse
  • Enthusiasm and creativity for enabling sales workforces to be high performing and engaged, particularly though use of modern technology
  • Managing partner and agency relationships and some experience in understanding, developing, and negotiating contracts with vendors
  • Supporting, coordinating, mobilizing, and organizing senior leaders around enablement program activities

Preferred Skills & Behaviors

  • Highly organized and able to manage in fluid operating models; flexibility to help establish activity and event programming under the new Sales Enablement function within Avanade with skills to operate, at times, within a new context for the company
  • Collaborative and able to navigate multiple cultures and styles
  • Ability to simplify complex messages and mature interpersonal communication, influence, and persuasion skills
  • Comfort to work with multi-geo and multi-time zone interactions
  • Openness to experimenting with new approaches
