Role Overview:


The Sales Onboarding Experience Lead is a new role to support the newly created Global Sales Enablement function in Avanade reporting directly to the Global Sales Enablement Lead. This role has a global mandate.


Avanade is embarking on a multi-year sales transformation as part of a wider CEO-led company-wide business transformation to dramatically grow Avanade across multiple corporate metrics such as sales, revenue, profit and market share. The transformation includes creating a high performing sales function with a refreshed sales operating model with a clear identity, career model, modern tools and systems to support a growing sales force to deliver exceptional results in a supportive, inclusive and rewarding work environment. The sales transformation will contribute to the ongoing evolution of Avanade’s GTM models and channel strategy.


The Sales Onboarding Experience Lead is responsible for assisting in the design, development and implementation of the global sales on-boarding training program that improves the capability, productivity and performance of the global sales organization and related teams with sales-related responsibilities.


This role will assist the Global Sales Enablement Lead in driving the global sales on-boarding and education agenda by prioritizing the development, coaching and go-to-market training & certification needs across the sales organization.  The role will work with Avanade Areas and Regions on training content and distribution strategies and with go-to-market certification programs across our selling functions.  The role will also help drive various Sales Transformation programs/efforts lead by the Sales Enablement team and focused on the learning needs of the selling community.


The Sales Onboarding Experience Lead will suit a highly versatile market-facing leader experienced in designing sales enablement training & certification functions and supporting change programs in multi-billion IT services businesses.

Responsibilities & Outcomes


    • In partnership with L&D, and ITS work to design and support the delivery and management of sales training and development programs for all sales roles in conjunction with Global Solutions Areas and Offerings and Marketing.
    • Assist in the Identification and prioritization of suitable technology solutions to improve the salesperson and partner experiences, including web, mobile and voice applications; artificial intelligence; and gamification.
    • Help lead and guide Area and Regional sales enablement and training teams who may or may not directly report to you to deliver value to sellers and sales teams on an agreed schedule through efficiently designed sales and well-implemented sales development programs.
    • Design certification programs that capture key training objectives and provide paths for enhanced seller knowledge and capabilities.
    • Coordinate with direct sales and partner channel leadership to align and prioritize enablement programs to meet agreed-on objectives that support sales goals including customer success.

Preferred Experience

    • Experience in designing, developing and implementing companywide sales enablement on-boarding, training & certification programs aimed at enhancing the sales capabilities of the sellers
    • Leading training development & certification creation programs for large companies and/or divisions
    • Cross functional stakeholder working relationships
    • Supporting market facing teams and modern client segmentation models
    • Supporting leadership to manage and sequence change through substantial transformational activities and developments
    • Preferred tertiary educational qualifications relevant to the role

Preferred Skills & Behaviors

    • Highly organized and able to manage in changing and ambiguous organizational models; flexibility to help establish a new Sales Enablement function within Avanade with skills to operate, at times, in the “unknown” and establish a function from ground-zero
    • Collaborative and able to navigate multiple cultures and styles
    • Ability to simplify complex challenges
    • Mature interpersonal communication, influence and persuasion skills
    • Experience with multi-geo and multi-time zone interactions
    • Openness to experimenting with new approaches, testing hypotheses and establishing KPIs that can help determine effectiveness
