Managed Services Solution Architect – Ireland  


There is a company-wide focus within Avanade to drive continued success and growth in our Managed Services business globally, both from an Application and Infrastructure Managed Services standpoint. 

As a key support of this strategy, Avanade are seeking a Managed Services Solution Architect.  


You will have a significant level of Managed Services solutioning and deal shaping experience with the ability and drive to take ownership of our Managed Services opportunities for Ireland.


You will work as part of the highly successful, passionate, and collaborative UKI Managed Services team, playing an integral role in driving forward the Managed Services strategy for Ireland. 


Utilising your exceptional relationship management skills, you will collaborate closely with both our regional sales teams & global delivery organisations to define and create effective managed services solutions that will drive value and success for our clients. 


You can clearly articulate complex proposed solutions to our clients with gravitas, including those up to C-suite level.  

You have built and maintained successful client relationships through close collaboration and rapport building.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft’s cloud services and products, staying up to date with the latest technologies. 


Ultimately, you love to create innovative solutions to help solve our clients’ business problems through technology, leveraging the suite of Avanade’s assets and capabilities.  


Your day to day responsibilities: 


As a Managed Services Solution Architect, you will be required to collaborate closely with our regional new business teams to: 

  • Contribute to deal competitor analysis and development of win strategies  
  • Interpret client defined or implied requirements against Avanade solution templates and delivery capabilities 
  • Engage directly with client stakeholders and SMEs to validate service requirements, explore solution options and identify service integration requirements  
  • Lead the definition of Managed Service solutions that meet agreed requirements  
  • Work closely with global delivery teams to realise service and solution estimates in accordance with the Avanade Estimating Model (AEM) guidelines  
  • Identify all service costs and populate cost models accurately to ensure an accurate estimation of delivery costs over the contract term. Create and document a Solution Plan engaging internal stakeholders as required   
  • Conduct ‘Deal Review System’ and internal sign-off (at regional, area and global levels) of costs and risk  
  • Participate in the negotiation of the solution components of contracts  
  • Plan for and support service implementation, service transition and service introduction activities  
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional and delivery centre solution architects and contribute to the development of the broader Avanade solution architect community  
  • This position can be based in Ireland although working location may vary from time to time; travel to client locations will be required, including occasional travel to our global delivery centres as required by the business and regional teams

Additionally, the role-holder will be required to be proactive in a range of Sales Support activities and to: 

  • Support and drive sales origination activities in early phases of the sales process in conjunction with our Business Development team  
  • Engage with clients to elaborate service needs and pre-qualify sales opportunities  
  • Work with our Regional Sales and Marketing teams to develop client facing presentations and materials  
  • Specify and develop Sales Proposals, take ownership of Solution aspects  
  • Contribute to the development of our Managed Services service propositions and offerings  

Experience with the following: 

  • Demonstrated track record of Managed Services solutioning and deal shaping, able to create a compelling value proposition using innovative deal constructs and leverage available assets and capabilities to craft the solution 
  • Detailed knowledge of Managed Services service and delivery models, including global and distributed delivery models. Proficiency in Application and Cloud/Infrastructure Managed Services 
  • Experience in estimating, costing and working with Finance and Sales Leads on pricing models. Demonstrates strong analytical skills, ability to analyse client provided data 
  • Able to define solution elements even when all the required information is not available. Realizes and documents reasonable assumptions 
  • Competent at building professional relationships: Demonstratable track record of nurturing successful relationships with colleagues, partner, suppliers and clients
  • Holds exceptional communication skills: structured and considered approach to written and oral communication. Able to distil and convey complex solutions. Additionally, a highly engaging & confident communicator who has effectively influenced stakeholders up to and including C-suite level
  • Strong point of view on emerging trends in technology, Managed Services, Application Development – DevOps, Cloud Native Application, Microsoft Development platforms and Open-Source Software, Cloud platforms like Azure, data analytics, containers, RPA and intelligent automation 
  • Proven ability to work within a team, balancing team success with personal contribution. Provides leadership when appropriate and capable of working effectively within a matrixed organization.
