Position Purpose:
There is a focus within Avanade ASG and company-wide to grow our Managed Services business for the Microsoft Technology stack, both from an Application and Infrastructure Managed Services standpoint. In support of this strategy, Avanade is looking for candidates with Managed Services solutioning and deal shaping experience for a Lead Solution Architect position. You will be leading solutioning teams with the aim to develop competitive solutions for managed services engagements including data gathering, analysing, effort and cost estimating, deal shaping, proposal development, as well as assisting with contracting. In addition to that, as a senior member of the practice, you will be responsible for growing our solutioning and enterprise architecture capabilities for managed services across ASG and helping to maintain and raise solution quality standards across our deals.
Day-to-day, you will:
• Shape end-to-end solutions and solution architectures for cloud transformation, modernization and operations, including estimation, solution planning and collaborating with the appropriate Accenture and Avanade teams to create the optimal client outcome.
• Lead and coordinate teams of specialized solution architects and subject matter experts to create the optimal client outcome and manage risks and delivery expectations with the client and Avanade/Accenture delivery teams.
• Lead the hand-over to delivery of successfully closed deals, acting as interim technical architect to ensure high quality standards are maintained during the transition to service delivery teams.
• Work closely with Market Unit Leads, serving as a subject matter expert in cloud architecture and solutions; work with Solution Area teams to grow their managed service capability and skills; collaborate with delivery center solution architects to drive standardization and delivery efficiency and quality.

You understand interactions and opportunities for synergy among parts of the business. Your professional experience most likely include:
- Domain Knowledge: experience and understanding of Microsoft technology based Managed Services solution constructs, able to define and evaluate solution options and variants to realize a value-based solution. Proficiency in a specific area of Managed Services (Workplace, Cloud based applications and infrastructure or Business applications).
- Numeracy, Analysis: comfortable working with estimating, costing and working with Finance and Sales Leads on pricing models. Demonstrating strong analytical skills, ability to analyse customer provided data.
- Communication skills: demonstrating a structured and considered approach to written and oral communication. Ability to communicate potentially complex solutions to less technical people.
- Service Contracts: knowledge of Managed Services service contractual constructs, experienced in the development of contract schedules.
- Team Player: proven ability to work within a team, contributing to the success of the team while making a personal contribution.
- Leadership: Providing leadership to diverse teams and capability of leading teams effectively within a Matrix organization.
- Deals with Ambiguity: ability to define solution elements even when not all the required information is available. Realizing and documenting reasonable assumptions.
Experience we are looking for:
- 3+ years solution selling (Sales/Bid Team, RFI, RFP, etc.) with demonstrable success with complex managed service transactions in a European based position
- 5+ years service transition or managed service delivery experience or equivalent
- Working experience in an environment with global delivery and in multiple geographies and industries
- Proficiency with frameworks and processes (ITIL, COBIT preferred)
- Willingness to travel as well as fluent English skills and good German skills are important to succeed in this role
