Job Description

As the Insurance Chief Technology Officer (CTO/ Industry Lead),  you will be responsible for Industry knowledge, technical leadership, vision, and strategy for Avanade, and for driving exposing Avanade capabilities into customers via business focused outcomes.

You will be an Enterprise Architect but also an industry architect for the UK&I market. You will promote new products, solutions and Avanade capabilities to customers and industry leaders including Microsoft and Accenture.

You will be a domain specialist with experience gained very much from the customer side and leverage this in becoming a trusted advisor to the customer.

Support sales and customer development by establishing your credibility with customers and our primary direct and indirect channels – Microsoft and Accenture

Support BD’s in individual customer opportunities and the wide OG (Financial Services) in achieving stated Avanade metrics.

Collaboration and support of OG’s in pitching and delivering solutions including cross OG’s solution and capabilities to meet the customers business objectives

Additionally, you will be responsible for contributing to the long-term technology strategy and solution development for our portfolio of offerings within and across the Market Units. Also, you will help Avanade cultivate a customer-centric innovation culture, and own communicating our technology vision to customers, press, analysts, and Avanade employees. You will also contribute to alignment with Microsoft and Accenture.

Core Responsibilities:

  •       Support the outcomes of the Financial Services OG
  •       Support BD activity in your role as industry architect and trusted advisor
  •       Understand the challenges of the sector from a business perspective
  •       Establish credibility and influence with both Microsoft and Accenture
  •       Support the execution of technology strategy for technology platforms, partnerships, and external relationships.
  •       Contribute to thought leadership externally and internally - build and maintain strong relationship with technology     community to position Avanade as a thought leader and promote Avanade's solutions.
  •       Provide visible leadership for the company within the technology community and technology market.
  •       Build strong customer relationships with key technical leadership in order to identify their requirements, influence their thinking, develop technical strategies, and manage their expectations.
  •       As a key sales support function, promote new products and solutions across Avanade and to industry audiences.
  •       Support in Driving, creating, and presenting Avanade solutions to end customer (and internally when needed).
  •       Coordinate new technology trial and product offerings.
  •       Foster a workplace environment consistent with the vision and values of Avanade.

Your technical and non-technical skills include:

  •       Excellent personal leadership and communication skills.
  •       Demonstrable Industry experience
  •       Technical & Commercial skills
  •       Sales experience
  •       Demonstrated managerial and leadership experience (leader of teams )
  •       Participating in a high growth, highly demanding, 'best people' environment.
  •       Consulting or project-based background, including implementing large, complex projects.
  •       Experience in assessing and managing the opportunity and risk associated with large scale and complex consulting projects.
  •       Track record in developing and growing long term, high value customer relationships at executive level.
  •       Specific knowledge of the Microsoft product line and software development preferred.
  •       Experience "turning around" projects that initially had significant delivery issues.
  •       Demonstrated expertise mentoring executive level personnel
