Job Description

Solution Areas are what we want to be known for in the market - They are the areas on which our clients most frequently seek our guidance during their digital transformation journey.  Within our Solution Areas, we have core Offerings, which are the solutions we deliver to our clients.  By specializing in and formalizing these select Offerings, we can deepen our relationships with our clients across their entire business and compete in new areas, helping us to grow our market share. As the lead in the Growth Markets an Applications and Infrastructure Solution Area, you will be focused on helping our clients maximize their investments.

Avanade leads the market in both building new digital solutions for our clients, as well as transforming and running legacy solutions on the Microsoft cloud platform.  Our offerings are all encompassing which include Azure cloud foundations, cloud migrations at scale, large complex application modernizations into the cloud, development of new cloud-native applications, data-driven applications, and digital products on cloud.   Avanade Applications and Infrastructures also includes a complete of managed services to securely run and evolve applications and cloud infrastructure in partnership with the Microsoft ecosystem while evolving to meet our clients’ own customer needs.  Our offerings are comprised of solutions and capabilities with global scale that include cloud architecture and foundations, DevSecOps engineering, cloud native software engineering and custom development, security architecture and engineering, intelligent applications with data and cognitive services, and product-centric application development.
As a Solution Area Lead, you will be responsible for the overall performance and growth of Applications and Infrastructure. You will develop the Solution Area business strategy, oversee day-to-day operations, ensure quality, and deliver against financial performance metrics. In concert with other Solution Area specialists and local and regional leadership, you will ensure that Avanade delivers full-spectrum solutions and value for clients and grows this part of Avanade’s business.   
Day-to-Day, You Will: 

o Sponsor priority Avanade Growth Markets Application and Infrastructure business development pursuits by defining the strategy and execution through go-to-market activities such as campaigns, portfolio sales and solutioning.
o Support investment decisions to help grow the offerings and practices through guidance of offerings development, managing partnerships, and proving input on acquisition decisions. 
o Effectively manage delivery of work to clients, ensuring adherence to Avanade methodologies and ensuring client satisfaction across the entire portfolio of GM application and infrastructure services.
o Support Solution Area personnel activities, including hiring, staffing, skills forecasting, and career development for cloud architects, DevSecOps engineers, software architects and engineers, and data scientists and engineers.
o Partner with leadership to determine priorities for staff positioning on client projects, business development activities, and internal investments initiatives 
o Work with our clients, Accenture, and Microsoft to drive offerings and solutioning to the GM market and work with sales and delivery to enable the desired outcomes.
About You:

You are a well-rounded consulting services professional. You understand the industry, the client perspective, the technology, the commercials, and the market. You are a great client communicator and mentor and leader to your team. You are comfortable in all client situations - a consulting pro.   You know the cloud market with experience in the Microsoft cloud platforms and selling and solutioning within the Microsoft cloud ecosystem.  You have experience with go-to-market activities for cloud transformations, systems integration, custom applications development and maintenance, some cloud managed services experience, and some solutioning delivery experience.

Your Business Leadership Experience Encompasses:

o Growing a technology services line of business through strategy and sales contribution 
o Establishing a presence in the market and in the minds of key clients through client interactions and leadership
o Business development and complex channel/stakeholder management
o Excellent leadership and communication skills, especially strong influencing, and negotiation capabilities

Specific Consulting and Delivery Experience Includes: 

o Delivering results for client organizations through complex application and cloud transformation solutions with heavy client interactions including most of the following.
o Cloud Secure Foundation and Migrations on Azure
o Cloud Optimization Managed Services on Azure
o System Integration, Agile Application Transformation on Azure
o Application Maintenance moving to Manage and Evolve opportunities 
o Complex Workload migrations and operations (e.g., SAP on Azure, Epic on Azure, Azure VMWare Services)
o Software Engineering – custom application development at scale, digital product development, digital decoupling
o Cloud Native software development and cloud analytics with familiarity of supporting Microsoft technology services
o Strong consulting and project-based background, including assessing and managing the opportunity and risk associated with large-scale, complex projects
o Guiding and directing leadership teams in developing, producing, and promoting solution offerings
o In-depth experience with offshore teams and delivery 
o Deep technical expertise in domains relevant to your Solution Area solution portfolio 
You have demonstrated relevant technology business leadership experience in areas such as solution sales, creation, delivery, and business management. You also have proven people and/or business leadership experience, particularly leading consultants. 
You have a Bachelor's degree in Business or a technology-related field or equivalent work experience.  Other Microsoft and Project Management certifications (i.e. Project Management Professional (PMI), Projects in Controlled Environments (PRINCE2), Project Management Institute, etc.) are considered valuable.
