It is Avanade’s vision to bring transformation and innovation to every industry and we are looking for an experienced industry marketer, specializing in the Manufacturing domain, to join Avanade’s Global Industry Marketing team and help us hit our ambitious business goals.  

The role will cover one of Avanade’s seven global strategic industries, the others being Financial Services, Health & Life Sciences, Retail & Consumer Goods, Nonprofit, Government & Public Services and Energy & Utilities. Avanade’s particular areas of focus in Manufacturing are the Automotive and Industrial Equipment sub-verticals.  

The Global Manufacturing Marketing Lead will lead the creation and coordination of the go-to-market approaches for the industry, as well as the closely aligned solution area Industry X. The success metrics for this role are twofold: supporting sales growth and creating recognition of Avanade’s industry expertise amongst clients, influencers, and partners.  



Key Responsibilities:  

  • Providing strategic marketing leadership, working in partnership with the Global Manufacturing Lead and Industry X Leadership, to define the marketing vision for the industry. Key to this will be your ability to analyse our competition and use the insight you create to differentiate Avanade in the market.  
  • Comprehensive understanding of Avanade Manufacturing’s commercial ambitions – its target markets, clients, strategic deals, progress against plan – and use insight to inform go-to-market strategy and campaigns.  
  • Program management of Industry-first multi-channel campaigns that support sales growth within the Manufacturing vertical for key solutions. Use presence at profile building tier 1 global industry events (e.g., Hannover Messe 2023) to launch/build on our key theme with Microsoft, Accenture, and clients.  
  • Generating and validating messaging and content for a wide variety of communications vehicles including events, video, thought leadership, whitepapers, infographics, blogs and social media.  
  • Support Field Marketing teams on regional activation strategy and content.  
  • Support and drive global industry marketing KPIs and metrics ensuring clear campaign goals, a close-looped-marketing approach and that return-on-marketing-investment is maximized. 
  • Acting as the industry marketing subject matter expert (SME), able to outline the landscape of market drivers and competitors, so you can provide guidance to field marketing, sales, other Avanade stakeholder and partners.  
  • Increasing external presence of our industry thought leaders and sellers via blogs, events, thought leadership platforms and speaker opportunities. 
  • Supporting the development of Avanade’s Manufacturing Industry Networks, promoting knowledge sharing around market trends and key marketing themes 
  • Build Avanade’s relationship with industry peers at Microsoft and Accenture to ensure alignment and agree joint marketing strategies and programs. 
  • Being able to work in virtual and cross functional teams against a common goal, which will include other marketing functions (partners, alliances, communications) as well as those outside of marketing.  

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • 15 years relevant experience. Industry Marketing roles within software, technology or professional service providers or marketing experience within the Manufacturing sector is highly valued. 
  • A marketer first, that is passionate and able to quickly grasp and communicate the marketing implications of an ever-evolving industry – and technology – landscape 
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed organisation, proven to be able to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects to successful completion. 
  • You will be a team player able to bring energy and enthusiasm to your work 
  • Be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of the Manufacturing industry, competitor go-to-market strategies and core offerings.  
  • Proven track record in leading messaging development, engagement with analyst community, and driving industry marketing 
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience
