Enterprise Cyber Security Operations Engineer

The Global Security Technology and Operations team is looking for an adaptable team member to deliver high-visibility work under the scope of our portfolio. We are seeking an experienced, detail-orientated, and motivated professional to assist in adequately securing all information, data, computer systems and network devices and just as crucially, ensuring appropriate security measures are in place to protect our people and our clients. You enjoy working on cutting edge technologies to help improve and/or assist in creating new security tools and services to help strengthen Avanade’s cybersecurity landscape.   

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Cybersecurity Architect team with designing, engineering and deployment of new and existing cybersecurity tools, processes, and procedures.
• Act as SME and work closely with our IR team by providing assistance for incidents requiring deeper investigation which outcomes may include use case creation, additional alerting, and alert tuning.
• Develop and maintain relevant technical documents related to our cybersecurity tools, systems, and processes.
• Investigate, analyze, report, and remediate irregularities or misconfigurations with our security related tools and systems.
• Continuously monitor health of Avanade’s security posture and work to remediate any open gaps.
• Acts as a SME, and escalation point for our IR investigators and junior security team members.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Three or more years of experience working in Security Operations Incident Response and Triage
• Experience improving security within a large enterprise leveraging Microsoft solutions and technology.
• Strong problem-solving / troubleshooting skills, and deep technical understanding of modern cybersecurity threats.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem and Microsoft’s suite of security tools
• Strong SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS skills
• Networking, Computing, and Infrastructure experience
• Scripting, Programming, Automation and Threat Hunting skills desirable
• Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK Framework
• Red Teaming, Blue Teaming, Purple Teaming, and Penetration Testing experience
• Microsoft Security certifications and/or other cybersecurity related certifications
• Preferred qualifications, such as CISSP, SANS, and/or Security+ certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited institution or at least 3 years of military experience.
• Two years of successful progress towards a computer science or related degree with sufficient work experience might be considered in lieu of the degree.

Compensation for roles at Avanade varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, Avanade provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York and Colorado as set forth below and information on benefits offered is here.   

Denver: $80,750 - $117,000

Seattle: $93,500 - $135,000
