Job Description

As a leader in Avanade’s Advisory Services, you will drive business consulting and architecture services as part of end to end transformational agendas for our clients.  Our Advisory services teams work with our clients at the C-suite level to clearly define vision and strategy and create strong roadmaps for implementation.

Aligned with Avanade’s Ambition 2025 strategy, the continued evolution of our Architecture capabilities and services is a critical focus in driving relevant business and technology solutions for our clients. Our architecture capability is critical in helping our clients realise their most strategic ambitions through helping to shape and drive realistic approaches and making practical choices in often complex technology landscapes. Our architects tie together and help accelerate the new capabilities and modern services that the Microsoft ecosystem in the context of the existing (often legacy) client technology landscapes.

Our focus will be on continuing to expand and mature our architecture capabilities at the industry (Industry Technology Strategists), account (Account Technology Strategists) and domain (Play Architects) levels. There are four key dimensions that will define success of this role:

  • Evolution of our architecture go to market and services that align with the rapidly evolving needs of our clients
  • Evolution in the way we stitch together and architect large and complex deals that span multiple offerings and Solution Areas
  • Evolution in the career path for our people with more defined architecture roles, accountabilities,
  • Evolution of a broad-based architecture community with a focus on learning and supporting architects in different experiences, domains and career paths
  • We will also focus on creating exciting career paths for our people across solution, domain, account and industry architecture opportunities.

To drive the key evolutions described above, we have created this Growth Markets focused Enterprise Architecture Lead role. This role will be based in Australia and have a strong focus on the local market (70-80%) and also support the other regions in Growth Markets to set up our target Architecture model and coaching / mentoring regional architecture leaders and teams (20-30%). The Enterprise Architecture community will also include our Account Technology Strategists (ATS), Industry Technology Strategists (ITS) and Domain Architects (Play focused).

As the Growth Markets Lead, you will be responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and growth of the Enterprise Architecture capability, go to market as well as alignment and coverage of  key industries and accounts. This includes building a strong market presence, opening new market opportunities, and enabling regions to drive success through the Enterprise Architecture capability.



You will also have the chance to:

  • Drive market impact
    • Engage with clients in strategic discussions to provide outstanding Architecture services and guidance to improve our client’s long-term business objectives.
    • Develop strong and positive relationships with client executives, effectively sell follow on Enterprise Architecture Advisory engagements.
    • Support business development/sales activities by working closely with regional advisory, account and sales teams to ensure proposition and solution alignment.
  • Evolve Avanade and our GTM
    • Build the EA organization (finding talent, building the practice, and interlocking with the regions, industries and accounts).
    • Drive the development and differentiation of our architecture services
    • Build a repeatable capability to solution larger and complex x-SA deals through the Enterprise Architecture capability and the ITS and ATS roles
  • Scale and nurture the Architecture community 
    • Bring together the enterprise architecture community and support the smooth integration with Advisory
    • Identify and fill critical gaps in Architecture talent aligned with the needs of Industries, MVC accounts and Plays.
    • Drive collaboration, learning and coaching across the community and promote career development and expanded career paths for our architecture talent



Your Skills:

  • Significant experience in Enterprise Architecture and practice development positions from a top management or technology consulting services firm, with experience managing projects, budgets, and teams
  • Expertise in delivering and leading Enterprise Architecture engagements and frameworks
  • Business development and complex solutioning experience
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with executive level clients, assessing their goals and objectives and the ability to translate ideas into strategic and practical solution recommendations.
  • Aptitude for critical and analytical thinking, as well as the capacity to accept out-of-the box solutions.
  • Autonomous, positive problem solver, highly flexible and willing to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of shaping and developing people capabilities in a highly matrixed environment
