About this role:

In this client-facing role, you will be engaged on some of the most exciting, complex, and leading-edge projects. Together with the Avanade Team you will play an active role in transforming our client’s Data Security and Compliance postures and operations through the design and implementation of Data Protection & Compliance technologies that apply both to the Cloud and Modern Workplace, with a focus on the Microsoft 365 Defender and Purview capabilities.

As a member of Avanade’s security practice, you will be in a unique position to work for both Avanade and Accenture clients, ranging in size from medium to large global enterprise clients. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the entire Avanade organization by being a collaborative and knowledge-sharing individual, with the real opportunity to help shape the global Avanade security offerings as well as demonstrating your thought-leadership by producing blogs and articles for your region and for We actively encourage and provide opportunity to undertake innovation, training, and development to ensure you are always at the cutting-edge Microsoft Security technology and our vendor solutions.

Your Skills:

  • You have experience in consulting and advising clients.
  • You enjoy working in teams but don’t mind working individually either.
  • Can collaborate within a large global organization.
  • Proven experience in design and technically implementing Microsoft Defender and Purview solutions to meet the compliance needs or follow industry best practice of the clients.
  • A good understanding of Data Protection and Compliance solutions, the role of Information Security officers, and legal, compliance and privacy officers.
  • A good understanding of the business, privacy, security, and compliance challenges relevant in Migrations or Transformation projects.
  • You like to be in the lead in the space of Data Protection and Compliance projects that not just meet our clients’ expectations, but far exceed them.
  • You are a creative problem solver, always try thinking ahead and spotting risks.

Your experience

You should have a proven foundation of at least 2-3 years across the Security technology industry and (preferably Microsoft 365 and Azure) security offerings. You effectively and enjoy talking about security concepts to key stakeholders and have a good understanding of industry trends for data protection, compliance requirements & understand the need for protecting structured and unstructured data. Your experience includes the following: 

  • You have proven experience working with a range of security, compliance, and cloud standards such as ISO27005, NIST800-53, GDPR, CIS
  • You have proven technical knowledge with Microsoft Security and Compliance, Microsoft 365 Defender and Microsoft Purview
  • You know the wider Microsoft eco-system (e.g. Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows/Server) and Data Protection baseline
  • You display strong consulting expertise – Stakeholder engagement, writing design documentation, presenting, etc;


  • Multiple Microsoft Security Certifications (e.g. SC-900, SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-400, AZ-104, AZ-500, MS-102, MD-102).
  • Preferably Security Industry-recognized exams passed (e.g. “CISM-Eligible", “Associate of (ISC)²”).
