Job Description
As an Industry Data Scientist, you will help clients understand and extract insight and value from their data using Machine Learning and AI techniques. Working as part of a team, you will be involved in all phases of analytics projects including: question formulation, design, research and development, implementation, and testing. This role will explore and understand data and build advanced solutions that could be predictive, prescriptive, or optimize.
This role is open to candidates around the world that are willing to relocate in Bologna (Italy).
Job Description:
- Develop innovative analytics solutions based on the Microsoft platform
- Develop business cases for new analytics solutions in the analytics environment
- Support project teams in developing client solutions that are passionate about exploratory data analysis
- Use your knowledge of statistics, programming, data modelling, and mathematics to recognize patterns, see opportunities, pose business questions and make valuable discoveries that lead to better business decision-making
- Apply technical knowledge to design solutions that meet business and IT needs, build analytics solutions and ensure long term technical viability of new deployments, infusing key analytics and AI technologies where appropriate (e.g. Azure ML, ML Server, BOT framework, Cognitive Services, Big Data, Data Lake, Azure Databricks, etc.)
- Ensure that solution exhibits high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience using statistics and data science
- 5+ years of experience developing machine learning using clustering, regression, optimization, recommendation, and neural networks, among other techniques
- 2+ years of experience with data science tools like Python, R, Scala, Julia, SAS , SPSS, MATLAB, Hadoop, or Spark
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Strong vision and critical thinking
- Experience working with cloud services like AWS, Google, and Azure
- Passion for AI and IoT technology
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of the value proposition associated with AI, Data, PaaS (Azure PaaS is a plus!), and DevOps.
- Proven leadership experience in an academic, extra-curricular or professional setting
- Strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to think on your feet
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in beginning a career in technology consulting upon receiving your undergraduate degree or advanced degree
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics.
