Data Engineer - Center of Excellence (Innovation HUB)

As a Technical Analyst, you will use your knowledge of data engineering and data science to support client deliveries and develop assets for Avanade’s Azure practice, including projects focusing on streamlining and automating machine learning activities. You will support the team by contributing to Data & AI solutions using Microsoft Azure PaaS services while leveraging best practices and proven patterns to deliver advanced analytics capabilities.

Job Description:

• Experience in applying technical knowledge to design solutions that meet business and IT needs, build analytics solutions and ensure long term technical viability of new deployments, infusing key analytics and AI technologies where appropriate (e.g. Azure ML, ML Server, BOT framework, Cognitive Services, Big Data, Data Lake, Azure Databricks, etc.)
• Experience in any other cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), IBM Netezza or Oracle is a merit
• Strong understanding of the value proposition(s) associated with AI, Data, PaaS (ideally Azure PaaS), and DevOps.
• You have experience with external client facing and project-based consulting.
• You have experience ensuring that solution exhibits high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience using some of the following tools: Power BI, R, Hive, Pig, Python, Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Mongo, Cassandra, CosmosDB
• 2+ years of experience working with cloud services, preferably Azure Cloud
• 2+ years of proven leadership experience in an academic, extra-curricular or professional setting
• Your education is likely to include MS/Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree with around 1 – 3 years of relevant professional experience.
