Avanade is seeking a Field Marketing Lead responsible for developing the marketing & communications strategy and plans for Austria, Switzerland, and Germany (ASG) working closely with the local business leadership team and global and European marketing leadership teams. This role will be critical in helping Avanade achieve our ambitious growth plans across the ASG region, driving both brand awareness and demand generation to both attract new and retain existing clients across multiple markets and industries within a defined set of target clients and accounts. 

We are looking for a strong leader, someone with a proven track record of directing and managing a dispersed marketing team across several countries, someone who can collaborate with senior business stakeholders across a highly matrixed regional, European, and global organization and can manage competing priorities and needs.

In addition to working directly with clients, Avanade also partners with other organizations, experience of working with other consulting and technology companies is essential as the role will require building strong, productive working relationships and leading the development of joint go-to-market strategies and plans.  

The successful candidate will need to combine strong leadership and team management with the ability to grow and nurture talent through effective skills training and career development. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Takes ownership of ASG field marketing team’s activities, including enabling their successful performance, developing them as professionals, and ensuring the quality of their work
  • Develops the broad marketing strategy for their team and works with the team to turn that into a clear marketing plan with KPIs
  • Use creative ideas to build and develop brand and corporate identity initiatives to position Avanade ASG with target audiences
  • Manages partnerships with sales leaders to help enable better identification of target account, sales objectives, industry, and offerings priorities
  • Continual analysis of market trends and the positioning of competitors. This provides the foundation for marketing strategies.
  • Oversees campaigns, such as local-market awareness and client acquisition and retention marketing and encourages sharing best practice
  • Oversees regional client marketing programs (account centric marketing, events, campaigns, social media/social business) for long-term relationship building and cross-selling
  • Align regional efforts to relevant global and/or European marketing campaigns where required
  • Facilitates partnership with alliance marketing partners. Manage key stakeholders across functions to ensure buy-in and focus on developing and maintaining positive working relationship and joint activities
  • Provides guidance and direction to support programs in partner groups driving account research, telemarketing, events, or other lead generation initiatives 
  • Track marketing campaign financial and performance effectiveness (KPI’s), provide recommendations for action if needed, and contribute to knowledge sharing of information with other groups
  • Reports on ASG marketing performance to Europe Marketing Lead, CMO, Sales and General Manager
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proven track record of developing a marketing strategy and plan that supports a multi-million Euro business across 3 different countries, several different markets and industries
  • Experience in brand awareness, demand generation, Account Based Marketing, Digital (including advertising, Social, Paid Social), telemarketing, events and internal communications
  • Strong team leadership and development skills with proven experience of managing teams across multiple countries.
  • Knowledge of consulting and IT services industry
  • Experience working across highly matrixed organization at many different levels, including executives and technical professionals
  • Knowledge of Microsoft enterprise technologies, including digital, Cloud, ERP, CRM
  • Industry GTM experience. Knowledge of localizing and implementing global marketing campaigns
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of business impact metrics and how to impact marketing metrics across the funnel
  • Strong communication and influencing skills. Ability to get multiple stakeholders to buy into a vision and strategy for industry campaigns and events
  • Self-driven person with “Can do” -attitude. An agile, creative, and strategic thinker with exceptional project and team management skills
  • Results oriented, ability to take ownership and act as a trusted advisor in marketing

  • 10+ years’ marketing experience, preferably in Consulting, IT/Services
  • 5+ years’ people management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred
