In Growth Markets we currently operate across seven very diverse geographies, those being Australia, Brazil, Japan, Greater China, Singapore, Malaysia, and United Arab Emirates.

The Growth Markets Business HR role is a transformational leader who will enable our growth ambition and strengthen our competitive advantage through delivering on the People agenda across a range of diverse markets. The people agenda is a critical component of our business strategy as a ‘People First’ company and is more crucial than ever in a complex and rapidly changing talent market. 

The Growth Markets Business HR Lead is a strategic role within the Growth Markets leadership team, accountable for delivery of the People agenda as well as being a strong member of and contributor to the Senior Leadership team. 

The successful candidate will translate high-level strategy into programs and actions local teams are inspired to deliver. You will also play an essential role in developing and advancing our strategic vision called Ambition 2025 and contribute to business growth and performance, while ensuring we have an inclusive environment where every employee can do their very best work. 

Key Role Responsibilities: 

  • As a strategic leader within the Growth Markets business, you will create and implement innovative HR strategies, programs and initiatives to meet our growth objectives and business strategy 
  • Use your experience working across different HR disciplines in an international environment 
  • Build solid relationships with global and area leaders 
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of experienced HR professionals 
  • Define how we measure and continually improve HR strategy and its translation into action 
  • Manage budgets and analyze KPI metrics to identify ways to enhance performance: 
  • Workforce and succession planning 
  • Employee retention and engagement 
  • Inclusion, diversity and wellbeing  
  • Skill development and rotation 
  • Learning and Development 
  • Employee experience 
  • Understand local challenges and how to deliver against global guidelines 
  • Leverage and partner with the HR Centers of Excellence 
  • Demonstrate proven experience in HR process design and improvement 
  • Capably meet deadlines on short time frames and under pressure with the ability to set and prioritize quickly 
  • Travel, as needed 

Key Opportunities and Challenges:

  • Growth Markets covers an extensive geographical area, from Latin America in the West to Singapore and Malaysia in the East, from Japan and China in the North to Australia in the South  
  • This brings significant cultural, language, market and geopolitical diversity, presenting both opportunities and challenges 
  • Growth Markets will continue to capture market opportunity, which will drive rapid headcount growth and expansion within current regions, as well as the opportunity to explore expansion into new regions / markets  
  • The Business HR team will work in lockstep with the business to achieve this growth, ensuring the business navigates this expansion successfully and eases any ‘growing pains’ associated with this  
  • Diversity of talent is a critical KPI for the Growth Markets leadership team and improving representation through a programmatic approach to talent attraction and retention will be key 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences:

  • You are an influential leader, with a growth mindset and clarity of purpose. Are comfortable navigating the complexities of a matrix structure with scale and can quickly develop a deep understanding of the Avanade operating model. 
  • A sophisticated HR strategist, able to develop strategic HR methodologies and approaches for both near-term and long-term business needs across a range of markets and cultures  
  • A highly qualified HR professional, ideally in a Professional Services environment, able to leverage a multitude of HR resources. You have proven experience of managing complex processes in a fast-paced environment and the critical ability to deliver impact/ROI.  
  • A strong people leader, you will have experience of leading and mentoring teams of HR professionals  
  • You always look for areas of improvement within the end-to-end HR lifecycle and people solutions 
  • You deploy a data-driven approach to HR, with a solid understanding of the HR digital landscape; able to apply a data-driven approach to formulate and execute Avanade’s HR strategy. 
  • An inspiring leader who drives vision and purpose, with demonstrated ability to instigate and implement change, motivating others to action and encouraging people to buy in. 
  • A strong team builder who fosters a culture of innovation, enjoys developing talent to meet both their career goals and the organization’s goals. 
  • You are globally orientated in approach, whilst able to customize and deliver locally, with cultural sensitivity
