About the role


As a Quality Assurance Consultant, you’ll ensure high quality, low defect software is delivered to production. You’ll participate in multiple areas of the software development process including interpreting designs, analyzing solutions, upfront discovery and prevention of defect introduction. In addition, you’ll design testing requirements and verify test plans, cases and scripts with an emphasis and focus on usability and automated workflows. From there, you will analyze failed tests and manage defects accordingly.


Day-to-day, you will:


  • Build and update documentation relating to the quality assurance processes and procedures using tools such as Confluence, Jira and Team Foundation Server (TFS)

  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases with customers, including local and remote test run use of relational and NoSQL database queries

  • Optimize testing scenario combinations for maximum automated test coverage, working with legacy scripts, Cucumber, etc

  • Maintain the test suites in current projects with new or modified features, tracking script versions in Git source control systems

  • Design, build and maintain web services tests with tools like Postman, SOAtest, and SoapUI

  • Travel, as needed.


About you

In addition, your professional skillset includes:


  • Experience developing unit tests using C#, Java or JavaScript

  • Familiarity with context-specification (BDD) tools like Cucumber

  • Developing automated integration and smoke tests for modern front-end automation tools (like Selenium) and automated service test tools (like SoapUI)

  • The use of relational and NoSQL database queries and scripting to validate backend functionality and prepare test data

  • Experience using TFS or GIT source control systems

  • Experience with test management tools like Azure DevOps Test Plans, Microsoft Test Manager (MTM), Zephyr or Rally

  • Client-facing responsibilities


You likely have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 2 or more years of Quality Assurance experience.
