Job Description

The IA Developer manages the technical aspect of implementation. They should be able to individually develop / test automation solution based on complexity and criticality of the Project. The IA Developer will design, build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements. The developer should be able to evaluate RPA and AI tools and provide recommendations. They will be needed to assess automation opportunity from technical perspective and perform due diligence to arrive at an optimal solution. You will be responsible for coding and configuring intelligent solutions from low-level design or technical design to meet defined requirements. The developer will adhere to Avanade’s IA methodologies and industry best practices and will be accountable for recommending appropriate technology solutions, delivering technical solution and framework. To be successful in this role you should have strong problem-solving and analytical skills and be able to work independently with little supervision.


Day to day you will do


  • Provides technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for client engagement from definition phase through implementation.
  • Design, implement, train & monitor intelligent automation solutions e.g. RPA, chatbots, intelligent services based on Microsoft Cognitive Services or other available platforms.
  • Applies significant knowledge of product and developments to improve service to our automation factory.
  • Defines the technical framework considering all relevant artifacts including like security, lead times, application landscape, availability of test systems for the applications, performance, etc.
  • Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
  • Define end to end system intelligent apps integration in enterprise applications based on cloud or hybrid architecture.
  • Owns the development lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout the project.
  • Identify, track, and resolve technical issues and risks affecting delivery.
  • Contribute to an integrated code library.
  • Performs code reviews and enforces coding standards.
  • Design and/or configure applications / tools to functional and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in structured peer reviews / walkthroughs.
  • Understands complex database concepts and effectively employs different database design techniques.
  • Understands object-oriented concepts and consistently applies them in client engagements.
  • Understands browser / client specific compatibility issues.

About you


Intelligent Automation is a key technology for some of the most strategic and sophisticated projects we deliver to clients. You should have a sound technical foundation and experience with intelligent automation and RPA tools. You should have automation experience that covers technical acumen, time management skills and a passion for learning. You need to be adept at process assessments and technical documentation. To be successful in this role, you need to have strong problem solving and technical skills. You should be able to work under the given timelines while at the same time, meeting client expectations.

You will also have:


  • Strong hands-on experience in at least one of the market leading RPA/IA platforms: Blue Prism, UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate Desktop, Automation Anywhere, NICE, or other and deep understanding of technology and architecture concepts.
  • Understanding of .NET framework or web development, depending on the automation.
  • Development experience and a solid understanding of programming concepts. You likely have a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science or a related field.
  • In depth understanding of IA concepts, core .NET concepts and object oriented programming.
  • Awareness of standard coding policies and procedures.
  • Experience with IDEs like Visual Studio, WebSphere.
  • Understands browser / client specific compatibility issues.
  • Nice to have experience developing enterprise level automation involving multiple systems, sub-systems and ERPs.
  • Previous experience working with off-shore teams.
  • Experience with Cognitive Services APIs BOT Services.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical resources and business stakeholders.
  • Polished presentation skills with ability to communicate at executive level.
  • Previous experience in business analysis and process re-engineering.
  • Exposure to Azure AI, machine learning, Cognitive Services, and Virtual Agents.
  • Experience with agile methodology, enterprise SDLC and exposure to SAP, Oracle or other industry standard ERP is desirable.
  • Management consulting experience is desirable.
