As an HR Service Manager for Background Checks, you will oversee the delivery of Avanade’s global background check program.  In close partnership with our background check vendor and our offshore Shared Services team, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, governance, service delivery, and continuous improvement of the background check program. You will partner with stakeholders to explore opportunities for enhanced services, innovation, process consistency, automation, and cost effectiveness. 

Day-to-day you will: 
The Service Manager will own, drive and manage the services and roadmap of new services to be provided in specific service area(s). As a Service manager you strive to provide a memorable employee experiences with technology and efficient and effective HR support processes through our HR Support centers. A Service Manager may be accountable for one or more service areas.  
  • Define and manage a roadmap of services  
  • Develop and implement global standards for services understanding the needs of Avanade’s employee base and country/regional HR operations and ensuring compliance with local regulations 
  • Benchmark HR processes and metrics against industry best practices  
  • Partner with stakeholders and partners to identify areas for process consistency, global HR process/tool support, automation, and cost effectiveness 
  • Manage vendor relationships 
  • Act as PM managing the development of new services or service enhancements seeing the process through from idea generation to implementation. Bringing appropriate partners and stakeholders together to determine the what and how of delivering new services or service enhancements, including content, communications and change management 
  • Maintain strong and proactive partnerships with Service Delivery, Background Check Center of Excellence and stakeholders to ensure seamless HR support services, continuous improvements and prioritize enhancements 
  • Utilize usage and service data to determine priorities, identify issues with existing services, opportunities to enhance services, as well as adoption 
  • Obtain and utilize feedback from users 
  • Provide regular communications and updates to the HR community on priorities and status 
  • Partner with Service Managers and stakeholders across the organization to identify the employee journeys and moments that matter ensuring that services seamlessly support moments that matter across service areas  

Your technical and non-technical skills include: 
  • Experience managing large, complex programs or projects 
  • Experience working in tech industry is preferred 
  • Ability to effectively lead others and work in teams (previous management/leadership experience preferred) 
  • Extensive knowledge of HR process and concepts 
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Previous change management and talent management experience 
  • Previous experience with background checks 
  • Fluent English language skills 

You likely have about 5+ years of increasingly diverse or complex HR or consulting experience. 

You likely have about 2+ years of experience managing medium sized teams and experience interacting with senior leadership. 

You likely have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, another relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
