About The Role  


As a Back-End / Integration Developer in Software Engineering, you will be part of strong development community working on the Microsoft platform, developing back-end services and solutions for Web, Cloud or Mobile devices for our customers.  


Our back-end developers focus on design and development of integration services, server-side processing, and data access. In modern-day enterprise development, areas such as API management, data engineering, cloud-based services, and deployments to containers such as Kubernetes are key, as are understanding design patterns and architectural styles such as microservices. In addition, the ability to operate within an Agile and DevOps focused project environment, and a willingness to adapt to different ways of working are essential to being successful within a back-end development role. 


Day-to-day, you will  

  • Be part of a collaborative team of highly skilled consultants who all share passion for Microsoft technology 
  • Take part in designing backend applications based on DevOps principles 
  • Design and develop APIs and Microservices integrating with external systems or other data sources 
  • You will have access to all the newest technologies and services within the Microsoft stack 
  • Collaborate and communicate with customers and colleagues in the projects to ensure the delivery of quality solutions 
  • Be part of a development team onshore sometimes working with offshore delivery centres 
  • Build and maintain your relationships within Avanade’s Software Engineering community 
  • You will work with some of the absolute best Microsoft consultants in the industry both in Australia and in our global community 


Technical & non-technical skills 

  • Experience in developing .NET or .NET Core based applications 
  • Experience working with the Azure iPaaS stack – API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Functions, Event Hubs 
  • Experience in database development using SQL and ORM (Entity Framework or nHibernate) 
  • Experience working with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, or Jenkins 
  • Good understanding of designing and developing well-crafted software using an agile and devops based approach 
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and waterfall methodologies 
  • Knowledge of using Azure Key Vault 
  • Additionally, experience with Microsoft Power Platform is positive but not mandatory 


Additional requirements 

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also suffice. 
  • Applicants must hold Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship
