Modern Workplace Desktop Engineer

To make our ambition a reality we have established the Modern Workplace Solution Area which is responsible for implementing the Workplace growth strategy and driving sales, revenue, capability, and reputation. The Solution Area has two strategic (workplace transformation and technology) offerings called Workplace Platform Modernization and Value Realization. These are underpinned by sub offerings spanning strategy, culture, experience, operations and technology transformation and managed services that assist clients with Evergreen IT management through to identification/ realization of new business value opportunities. 

Within the Modern Workplace Solution Area, we have market leading Centre of Excellence (CoE) which is responsible for innovation, offering development, partner eco-system innovation, delivery methods and asset development, sales generation and solution design support to assist our regional sales teams with pipeline and lighthouse deal conversion. 

About the role  

We need a few Modern Desktop experts, so Intune, SCCM, Desktop modernization, Windows 365 and Azure Virtual desktop

As a Modern Workplace Desktop Engineer, your focus is on communication and collaboration systems, and workplace services including desktop solutions, collaboration technologies, and enablement of secure remote working environments. 

Day-to-day, you will: 

You will make upgrades, migrations and evergreen scenarios. Your primary focus is on Microsoft technologies and implementations in enterprise environments. Additionally, you apply your expertise in technical and consulting knowledge to advise clients on accurate governance to ensure stability, and to enable them to evolve their environments to support changing business requirements. 

About you 

You’re a natural communicator who wants to help our partners on their Modern Workplace journey. You will help improve employee mobility, efficiency, teamwork and security demonstrating your experience in Intune, SCCM, Desktop modernization, Windows 365 and Azure Virtual desktop. Your interpersonal and communication skills help technical and non-technical clients engage with often complex information. 

Your skill-set likely includes: 

Microsoft365, AVD, Intune/SCCM, Office 365, Desktop modernization,

Session initiation protocol, video conferencing systems, network assessment and troubleshooting, load balancing and virtualization 

Azure AD, Azure AD PIM 

PowerShell and other scripting language 

Up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft products 

Ability to gain an understanding of customer process and issues, and communicate them back 

Great teammate with strong verbal and written communication skills 

Experience working with offshore teams to facilitate project work 

Demonstrated excellence in communicating and presenting sophisticated information to technical and non-technical partners, both verbally and in written form 

Proven experience on developing technical, business and operations aspects in requirements gathering, use-case scenarios and high-level architecture 

 You likely possess: 

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also suffice. 

2-5 years of prior related work experience, preferably in a technology or consulting environment.
