Job Description

Avanade is looking for a candidate to join the Security Talent Community with the role of Identity and Access Management Consultant. This is a client-facing consulting role, where you will work on exciting projects that transform our client’s solutions with a focus on the Microsoft Digital Identity capabilities as well as other leading market vendors (e.g. Okta, Saviynt, CyberArk & One Identity). As a member of our security practice, you will work for both Avanade and Accenture clients, ranging from medium to large global enterprises. 


What will you be doing?


As an experienced IAM consultant you will advise our clients in the field of digital identities to protect their access to information, applications, infrastructure, and business processes. You will work closely with the various stakeholders from the customer and colleagues from Avanade, Accenture, and Microsoft. The clients you will be working for are enterprise organizations in various industries. You will give them advice using your experience and knowledge in the field of IAM. In addition, you, together with a team of colleagues, will supervise the implementation of technical IAM solutions at our clients.

Many companies want to work towards the Zero-Trust principle, and you will advise your clients about this. Because it has become apparent that passwords cannot protect identity optimally, many companies are now switching to Single Sign-on in combination with Passwordless Authentication. We help our clients by advising them and making this transition a reality.


What is expected from you?


  • You are an Identity and Access Management Consultant, interested in joining our security practice, and are experienced in consulting and advisory discussions with clients and other consulting firms.
  • Be able to prepare well written, logical, and concise material without guidance in English, French or Dutch as mentioned below.
  • You have at least two years of experience in information security with a focus on digital identity and you have experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory & Active Directory, Azure MFA and Conditional Access.
  • You should have worked with or knowledge on the Microsoft IAM subjects such as:

Azure Active Directory.

Active Directory Domain Services

Azure AD and hybrid identities including AAD Connect, ADFS, PHS or PTA.

Azure AD External Identities (B2C/B2B).

Privileged Access Management (PIM/PAM).

Conditional Access & Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).

Single Sign-On (SSO).

Identity Governance.

  • You have experience setting up the lifecycle management processes (joiner/mover/leaver), creating and managing accounts in different systems, with their corresponding rights, MFA settings, and Conditional Access policies.
  • Have a passion for Microsoft Security solutions and the ambition to deepen your knowledge and develop yourself in this area in the coming years.
  • Understanding of Active Directory and legacy authentication protections (LDAP, Kerberos, NTLM, etc).
  • Interested in developing experience and understanding of Access governance approaches and processes
  • Understanding of the business, privacy, security, and compliance challenges surrounding Digital Identities and a passion for solving these challenges for clients.
  • Assist in the definition of Avanade’s security solutions with your knowledge in the digital identity space.
  • Identify new or extend current opportunities at the account level and contribute to the overall selling process.
  • Third Party Tools and Cross Related Experience like: IAM/IDP Tools – Saviynt, SailPoint, PingFederate, Oracle, RSA, CyberArk. CASB – Symantec, Oracle, ForcePoint, Okta, etc.
  • You should be interested on continuous learn and improving your skills on the MS Security solutions as required.
  • You are preferably in possession of one or more of the relevant (MS) certifications such as: MS-500, AZ-500, SC-300, SC-900, MS-100.Other security certifications such as SSCP, CCSP or CompTIA Security+ are a plus. Third-party vendor certifications related to digital identity are a plus: Savyint, OKTA or One Identity
  • Fluency in either French or Dutch, and English is mandatory.
  • Preferably possesses a completed bachelor's or master's degree or have equivalent experience.
