Job Description

Role Overview: 

As a Business HR Group Manager, you are expected to play a key role in Avanade Japan HR, as someone who is hands on yet strategic, who can create a big picture and also implement in day-to-day execution. You will work with assigned function in Japan, managing daily operations, defining appropriate programs, planning, and budgeting, and serving as a strategic business partner to the Senior Management team. Additionally, you will be involved in program oversight that may include: culture building, employee relations, assist hiring target, onboarding, performance management, professional development, compensation, budgeting, HR systems, benefits, and general personnel administration in terms of statutory and legal measures. You will assist Japan HR Director in driving the local HR strategy to make Avanade Japan’s business and people successful.

Key Role Responsibilities:

Day-to-day you will work in a variety of HR areas: 

People Experience: 
-Support and maximize employee experience in professional life as determined in HR strategy 
-Proactively drive and ensure all employees receive supportive coaching and right feedback through Avanade performance management system including annual /semi-annual career and compensation review process 
-Continually maintain and enhance current HR practices in conjunction with the HR Team 

Employee Engagement: 
-Drive Avanade employee survey supporting region leadership to secure enough participation and improvement of targeted engagement score 
-Work on deep analysis of survey outcome and action plans in HR providing professional advice to business leaders
-Continually assess morale within the organization and prepare strategies to better motivate and retain current employees -Lead, motivate, and be an ambassador for employees at Avanade 

Policies & Processes: 
-Provide key input to the development and "maintenance" of Avanade policies and processes through a right coordination with respective parties. 
-Contribute to the creation of global policies and programs through participation on special projects 
-Lead the regional/Market Unit HR team and provide career coaching and development for group 
-Adapt regional processes and organization to a changing/dynamic Regional/Market Unit organization 
-Handle employee grievances and conflict
-Plan and prepare the region's HR budget in conjunction with Finance, if applicable 
-Manage and update HR Databases/Systems and enable maximum benefit to be derived from the system 

Talent and Career Development: 
-Develop and supervise training initiatives including promotion, position change, rotation plans, knowledge transfer, functional skill development, team building, and etc. 
-Contribute to the ongoing development of compensation structures as necessary to deal with retention, motivation, and/or attraction challenges and ensures compliance with Avanade policy guidelines and governmental regulations in conjunction with the Area/Global Reward team 
-Act as "sounding board" for regional career development. Provide counseling to both employees and leadership on addressing career development needs 
-Guide development of management/leadership, communication, and general consulting skills to the region 

Talent Supply & Onboarding: 
-Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure smooth and successful recruitment of mid-career and early-stage talent. 
-Develop HR planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filing of gaps 
-Areas of activity will include, talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions, training and development programs for preparing employees for more significant responsibilities, and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of the business of the company 
-Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets 
-Review/validate in HR Administration, Business Partner, Employee Relations, Creating and Implementing HR Programs, and Performance Management focus areas 

Upgrade Organization and Workforce:
-Proactively drive Global HR initiatives as region representative in right decision taking place. 
-Work with Area/Global HR team, prepare, coordinate, and support business leaders with any changes in force 
-Plan and implement organization changes to ensure smooth transition of employees into the current employment

Key Role Skill & Capability Requirements:

Qualifications: 

-Extensive knowledge and experience in the following competencies: Japanese labor risk management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, staffing, recruiting, performance management, and professional development 
-Experience in developing and executing a variety of policies and programs 
-Highly excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal in Japanese and English 
-Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership ability, being confident to clearly understand company’s business performance and people impact 
-Ability to work in an environment that demands flexibility and offers ambiguity 
-Strong judgment and decision-making skills 
-Possesses the ability to be team oriented and collaborative, yet can provide individual contributor value 
-Ability to interact and influence all levels of people and overall Avanade culture 
-Capable to manage multi tasks/action in right priority and self-well-being as a role model 
- As a senior HR member, provide coaching and offer support to HR colleagues, prove growth mindset in stable and right manner

Preferred Education Background:
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent education and experience

Preferred Years of Work Experience: 
You likely have at least 12 to 15+ years of increasingly diverse or complex experience, of which, at least half in HR.

- Positive feedback from peers and internal stakeholders

Relevant Additional Details:
- HR experience in similar global IT companies will be a strong advantage
